04-08's: Tailgate F150 chrome badge: Holes underneath?

Looking to get a cleaner look on the tailgate... Need to take a dealer badge off which is glued... presumably with some fishing wire and some goo-gone? Will the paint be alright underneath after this job?

Also want to take the chrome F150 emblem off... is this also glued? Or is this bolted on?

Thanks for any advice in advance!!

dealer emblem should come off fine with your method.

the Ford emblems are held on with double sided tape and they have alignment pins on them that will leave holes in the tailgate where the emblem was.

do it when its really hot out and take a hairdryer to it and double-or triple up on the fishing string, twist it around and pull it around so its cuts more effectively.

Thanks for your help guys. Shame about the holes underneath - that badge is staying put!

Will rubbing alcohol be good for it? Will either this or goo-gone affect the paintwork?

wont hurt it as long as you dont leave it sitting on your paint for an extended period of time.
