Air Horn ... What are your thoughts

As many on this site, I want to upgrade my oem horm to an air horn. I do want want to spend very much or add a complete set with a tank and everything.

I found this and I think this may be what I am looking for as it sounds pretty good (no high pictched Wolo sound) and is a great price. There is a video with the sound of it in the description area.

What are your thoughts?

ehh, I'd skip it... I can't say much for a cheap air horn system, but if you look around on ebay for just the horns you can find plenty. I got a grover 1510 and a grover 78' peterbuilt horn off ebay for dirt cheap, less than 50 bucks each. The tanks on ebay are fairly cheap too from 50-100 bucks depending on what size you want and compressors are usually the most expensive, you could check hornblasters.com they usually have refurbs for 100 or so that they guarantee. I have a ton of air line I could stand to get rid off too. If you want any help with putting together a system I can probably help you out, I have redone mine 3 times now and just stopped the constant leak i had

I just added the peterbuilt horn cause I was afraid just the 1510 (fire engine horn, you probably knew that though) was sketchy to use as an air horn seeing as how many people associate it with fire trucks only. I tuned it so that it still has a bit of fire engine sound too it but more of a big rig tone now, and the 78' peterbuilt horn has a deep tone to it, I think they sound great together. I don't worry about using the horn anymore

Thanks. I checked out hornblasters in the past, but like I said before, I am not looking to spend a lot and trying to avoid the complete tank set-up.

Yep, junk. Save your money and buy a compleat set up. At least a 3 bell, 140psi or more, 3 gal tank, 1/2 line. All the other horns just make you sound dumb......

I wouldn't even bother. Those cheap setups are cheap for a reason. They normally don't last every long and fail and/or sound like poo, so in the end you'll end up spending more than what you would have buying a descent setup. I bought a mid priced kit with the compressor built on a small tank which failed with in 6 months and wouldn't build pressure at all. Ended up keeping the horns that sounded great and bought a 5 gallon tank and 150psi viair compressor. Then I used a short quality air hose like used on air tools. No leaks and quick disconnect and I can fill a low tire with ease.

Mainly from look at the size of it, its probably like a 150cc compressor with a 2 gallon tank, that compressor is not gonna last very long and with that small of a tank, your only gonna get 1 good blast out of it, which means if you honk it a lot, each time you do that compressor is gonna have to fill it up each time and its not made for that much.
