Bought a lightning motor now what? help?
So I bought a 70k lightning motor complete for my 01 supercrew. I am now trying to think about what I will need to buy to complete the tuning ect.. I am thinking that it will need a tune and xcal? Does troyer or someone else have a tune that I can buy because I just dont trust anyone around reno,nv to do it.
Any help is appreciated and please let me know what else I will need...
Thanks Dave

Ok ya I guess that would help... Here are some pictures (not getting the tranny) and also what exactly do I need to buy for the tune? Also does all the computer wiring just clip in and work or do I need to adjust anything?
Here is what I know I will need:
heat exchanger
intercooler pump
intercooler tank
tune and tuner
im using my fan if it works, this one is broken
Maf and intake

Looks good.
Only thing I'm not seeing is the throttle and cruse cables. If you have them and with your small list you should be good to go.
And yes, the L wire harness should plug right in to your truck.
As for tuning, when you decide on the tuner(person doing the tune) let them recommend which device to buy that they use most or are most familiar with.

I sent you some info. Can't see pictures. so I sent you a list of all the parts. If you email pictures I could refine the list.

Also your best bet is to contact JJ @ WoodBine Motorsports, he is one of the most knowledgable tuners for the lightnings and is a great supporting vendor over there...
You also will likely need a Lightning calibrated computer to start with and twin pumps.........Someone will likely be able to hook you up with one of those over there also....Tell em STRK BY sent ya http://www.woodbinemotorsports.com/

There are several good forums out there you can go to. In addition to above, NLOC and NHTOC. Woodbine is a good tuner. He is located in Northern Maryland. He did the second tune in my truck. As far as number of pumps, 1-255 is fine for your current mods and since you are going to stay with the stock NA ECM it will not support the Lightning dual fuel pump arrangement.
Good luck!
