I have become a picture ***** lately. Figured I would share a pic of my daily ride. 2007 focus 5 speed i drive it every where i bought it new and already have 45k on it. I hauled my old trans in the back when i got my built trans from Dirty Dog. It has been a great little car.

most all of the failures on the 8.8 is spider gears from having to much back lash in the ring and pinion.

I agree, I used to run a street '62 Chevy II, .040 over 350, Muncie close-ratio 4 speed, 4.56 10 bolt and 26" slicks in the 1/8th, crossed the line in 4th at about 5100 rpm's. I would think 4.10's w/28" slicks would be excellent for the quarter, but a little too high for the eighth.

It is a toy and isnt daily driven, it only comes out at night and on the weekends so 10gal should do. I am shooting for 4000 race weight.

I am going to pull the old tank out tomorrow and weigh it and compare empty vs empty. The cell dont weigh ****, it is really light! My big thing was it has a sump for a pickup so i only run a couple gallons and be fine at the track, and i have the weight where i need it most on the rear. With the cell, bottle, and intercooler tank at the back of the bed it should help a lot with traction. At least that is what i am shooting for.

Are you shifting into od in the 1/4? I have been told by countless people and Dirty Dog the one who did a kick *** job building it to never let it shift into od at wot. I dont know what my rpm is when i go through the lights, but i figured i would run out of gear in 3rd in the 1/4. I will look at some of my data logs and see what it is turning.

I am just shooting for a good times! I always said it would never have a cage because it is too clean of a truck to cut up. But at the same time if i cant do what i built it to do then it will get a cage. The local 1/8 isnt too bad about too much stuff but 7.39 i think and your done without a cage.
