hey guys, i had my bed LINE-Xed about 2 days after i got it. i have noticed that the bed sits off to the drivers side a little more then the passenger side. is i possible that when they removed the bed bolts to LINE-X the truck that they shifted it accidentally?

 

Did you ask the people that did the line-x?

 

anythings possible. i would take it back and point it out and have them try to shift it back over.

well, i didnt notice it until recent. and im in florida now. the shop that did it is in illinois. i would have to wait until i get back up that way next summer. im just trying to figure out if it is something that they did or if its something that came from the factory and it is a warranty item.

 

how much is it off? you could take it to the dealership and see if they could do anything.

 

its not off by much. i would say at max 1/2 an inch.

 

Yes it can move. Loosen the bolts and move it yourself. It's easy.


If you wait to take it back to the dealer that sprayed it, watch them and see how easy it is, you'll be upset you wasted all that time to go back and have them move your bed a .5 inch over or whatever.

I say that, but if you don't have the tool to do it, then go back...

 

i have the tools to do it while im down here. i guess you really answered my question on how easy it is to move it. i just didnt know if there was enough movement in the bed bolt holes to allow it to shift. thanks.

 

You should crawl up under the truck and look at the bed and now it attaches to the frame, I have seen grooves in some Ford beds so its not as easy as loosen and move it, presto kind of thing...you have to get the bed seated in the groove. Which means you would have to lift and push to "set it" if you will. Take a look at it and you'll see what needs to be done. No big deal. Good luck.

 

I own a Line-X shop in Longwood, FL (North of Orlando). If you are in the area, we'll be more than happy to shift the bed for you. It takes either a T-45 or T-50 socket (available at ACE Hardware, Lowe's or Home Depot). Depending upon the length of your truck bed, will have either 6 or 8 bed bolts. All they need is to be loosened up, shift the bed, and retighten the bed bolts.

Use a T-50 and loosen the bed bolts, you don't have to remove them. Move the bed into position (it moves VERY easily), tighten bolts, drink a brew for a job well done.
