Shift Fork for 4WD

Anyone have any experience or know how much it costs to get the shift fork fixed in the front differential, and is this something the Ford shop can fix in a day or two, or should I brace for the cost of a rental? I have an 03 FX4 Supercrew, and I think the shift fork went out today. Any help would be appreciated.

There actually is a pretty good transmission shop here in town, I really didn't think about that. I might try them first. Thanks.

What happened that makes you think the shift fork itself is bad? There are a lot of other items in the vacuum-actuated system that can cause issues with the front end engagement.
