Flush Mount of Alpine IVA-W200

Does anyone have tips for flush mounting the Alpine IVA-W200? I was told it would stick out about 1/4 inch on a 2004, but saw brypink2's photo's of his install, and now I'm convinced it can be done.

All you have to do it drill new holes or make the existing holes bigger in the brackets that screw to the side of the radio. This will allow you to adjust the hed unit to sit flush. I think the Metra kit would be best to use.

Could someone please give me a link to this particular Metra kit that you and bry used to install your IVA-W200? I don't want to use the one that crutchfield is suggesting because I don't want to risk not having a flush mount. Thanks...

Ok, I'm going to answer my own question because it may help somebody else in the future. I searched a little harder and found the Metra kit that I need. It's Metra part 95-5812 and here's a link....

Thanks for the confirmation though bry. I can't even begin to say how much I've learned through this site. With the proper use of the search feature you could pretty much learn to do anything on your truck, or what you need to know to have somebody else do it, and what products people prefer, and a bunch of other stuff!

When I first got my truck I didn't know crap, but now I feel like I know a pretty good bit about a lot of different things. I've had my truck for one year and only now am I starting to throw money at it from what I've learned in here. Thank you F150online and to all of it's members!

Hopefully, I've been able (from my few post) to help you out in your knowledge. If not, you are ABSOLUETLY right...this forum is GREAT for increasing your knowledge and to help make informative decisions regarding your truck. Their are ALOT of members on here with vast amounts of knowledge...I tip my hat to them all!

Ok, I've installed my IVA-W200 and everything and I absolutely love it!!! It really is something else. When I first installed it I made all the adjustments with the mounting bracket and got a flush mount, but then when I fired it up it can't open because it needs more room for the door to open. Are you guys not having this problem with your flush mounts? I can't put it in all the way. It needs that 1/2 inch to stick out so the thing can open. Any ideas as to what I'm doing differently from you guys???

No problems with mine opening. You can see a better side view of it in my gallery. Only the top sticks out a little because of the curve in the dash.

I made a REALLY SMALL adjustment and got it to sit flush. It looks just like yours FX4Naz! I'll post some pics this weekend. I did it on my lunch break and I don't have my camera with me at work.

I love this head unit!! Thanks for all the post guys and for letting me know that it could sit flush otherwise I would have probably just gave up and left it sticking out.
