transmission slippage
transmission slippage
Ok, left work on Friday, tranny felt weird. Give some gas, felt slight slippage then a little jerk into gear. Each time I stopped and then started the slippage got worse and worse. Came to the point where the truck would hardly move in drive. Went right to the dealership in Lowell Mass. Left the truck running, went to see Mal (great service guy so far) he was busy, so he had one of his guys drive my truck. Yup, problem never happened on his test drive, yup never happened. No tool or error light, nothing. So I told him I would drive it till it happened again. Nothing yet... Anyone with the 04 have this happen to them? Thanks for any and all thoughts!!!
On my last visit to the dealer they did check out my drive shaft / yoke clang issues. They checked the specs on the rear end, changed the rear end fluid, was told it is in perfect spec well within tolerances. Went thru the tranny/yoke and drive shaft all in spec. So perhaps I need to visually inspect the tranny fluid myself since they did inspec and measure tolerances and changed the fluid... So it could be low fluid... Thanks, casey_1
casey_1 thanks for the advice. Checked the fluid after the tranny warmed up about 10 miles with nice weather. Sure enough, the fluid was just in the cold range when warmed up. Put enough in little by little to get the fluid level to the upper middle of the warm range. All has been good since. Thanks for all the comments...
