Lost key fob.... Now $$$$

I lost one of my key fobs. I should have purchased a third party one long ago and made a third one.

Anyway, I've got a 2015 with the four button switchblade fob. It seems that Ace hardware makes them but not for my truck. Says I need to do it at the dealer. I called them. The key, has to be ordered from Ford and programming total is about $220 !!!

Anyone have any possible alternatives before I jump on this?

That sounds about right, the 15+ keys are double sided laser cut and most places don't have the equipment to cut them.

I know how you feel, a few months ago my daughter lost a key to her 16 focus titanium with push button start. That replacement key fob cost me $385.

$220 is like them giving you the courtesy of a reach around compared to the 385 I got shafted with.

Update:
I found the fob. It went through the snowblower. I did some snow diving (two feet here in Maine) and miraculously found it. It's chewed up a lot but it still starts the truck. Now that I have two, I've ordered a couple more from Amazon ($44 each) and found a place that will laser cut the key part Then I should be able to program the chip using the off/run method. ... I hope.

Artgarcia: Here's the link to the ones that I purchased. You'll have to look up the number someplace on yours as I see you've got a 2010 model. I think the key is a different one. Amazon should have it though.

Amazon Amazon
