Center console lid falls too easy

Does anybody have a suggestion for a spring or shock to keep the center console lid up? I feel like it falls down too easily. Thanks for any suggestions.

That's interesting... mine will stay up, but if it is pushed down a little, it falls back down hard. Wish mine was like yours. Maybe yours has a tighter spring or something. Maybe I'll take mine apart and see if I can tighten up the spring a little.

Mine too, XLT 302a; was afraid it might be a belly and elbow problem instead of the tensioner.

When I press the open handle mine springs open and stays there. I have the center console that's built in, not the bench seat one. Maybe there's a difference between the two?
