A co worker of mine got a very nice used 12' platinum with a 5.4 and has had the purge valve replaced 3 times on the emission system. I feel that that is excessive, so does he, considering the extended after market warranty doesn't cover it & recently he had a cracked exhaust manifold replaced which was covered by the extended warrenty.

Has other owners of this generation had similar experiences ?

 

There was no 5.4 in the 2012.

 

I prolly got the year wrong maybe its a 10' when was the last year for the 5.4?

 

I had an '08 that I had to have the exhaust manifold replaced on. Part wasn't too bad but labor to get it out was expensive.

I had no issues that I was aware of on the purge valves on my 5.4

 

2010 was the last year for a 5.4.

 

So far so good, my co workers 10' has been working good.
For some odd reason I thought he said it was a 12'...which made me suspicious that he got taken on the trade...because there was no 5.4 engines in the 12' line up
