Help needed! Leaky rear window on my 2010 ford 150 lariat.

Hello guys.

I'm new! I just bought a 2010 ford 150 lariat, and I love it. I noticed today however that the back window is leaking water. I took a look at it and the glass itself is wobbling. Being a girl I'm wondering if anyone can give me a clear instruction on how to fix it. I've read a few posts on here and see that it's quite a common issue which makes me feel better! Thank you in advance

The common issue is the third brake light leaking water, which cascades down the inside of the rear glass and can also get the headliner wet. Ford has a redesigned part for that. Mine was replaced under warranty and is the only warranty repair I've had on the truck since buying it new.

Are you sure your glass is "wobbling"? Have to ask because that would be weird.

Assuming your truck isn't under warranty and it just needs a new brake light, you could try to reseal it or upgrade to an LED 3rd brake light.

I too would bet it's the third brake light. It is easy to remove and put a thin bead of clear silicone around the edge to seal it off.

I had that problem as well. The gasket on the third brake light eventually shrinks to almost nothing. Here's a fix for that.

Hi. Thanks for the replies. It's definitely not the light. The actually glass has come away from the seal in the top right side. Super weird!

Interesting. Time to take it off and reseal it then (if you haven't already)!
