Front and Rear End Issues

I have a 2005 f 150 4 x 4super crew with the 5.4. When I make turn's the steering wheel and the rear end shake. I checked the tie rod ends, wheel bearings, and the 4 x 4 systerm and everything is tight. I was reading in the forms here and people were having issues with the torque converters but those are with speeds of over 40 mph. When I'm driving straight it doesnt shake. It's only when i make left and right hand turn's. I dont think my clutch packs are bad and I have never flushed out the trans fluid and I have 55,500 miles on it. Is this a sign that my trans is slipping or going??? Please help.

Are you sure that 4WD is disengaged. From what you say it sounds like you're in 4WD.

my 4x4 light is off and the switch inside the cab is on 4x2. I jacked up the front end of the truck up and spun the wheel and had someone hold the opposite one in place and it did not move. This is why I though the 4x4 system was fine. What would cause the 4x4 system to engage like this then?

With an open diff you can do just like you did in 4 WD or 2 WD. Did the drive shaft turn when you did this test?

Make sure the engine is running when testing this way...the half-shafts should not turn with the engine running (must have vacuum to the IWE'S)
