Yes it does suck. I'm in no way ready to start looking for a new truck. I hope this one will run fine after the repair. At least until the end of the year. Then maybe i can affford to look then.
I hope I'm not in and out of the shop.

Spoke to the shop foreman today. A short block was ordered and will be here Tuesday or Wednesday. Foreman said that the rings in one of the cylinders were put in wrong at the factory.
Hopefully have the truck back by the end of next week.
Wish me the best, I hope the truck runs like new again.

Dealer called, motor is together and is being put in the truck right at this moment. They said if all goes well i should have the truck monday evening.
I hope it comes out perfect.
They said they check the heads and they were fine. So old heads and parts go on the new block.
I just hope they got a new block and not a rebuilt. When i get the truck back maybe i can check it some how.
Well thats the drama for now.
If i get the truck Monday i will post the results.

Thank you for all the advice and support..............

She runs good, but it never ran bad either. I took it in for a tune up and got an engine removal. I'd be curious to see how many "extra" parts were left over. My Ford Certified Mechanic, was "not so good". That's all I was saying.

Got the truck back today !!

Well just picked up the truck. Seems to be fine so far.
They replaced the engine with a remanf. small block. service shop said thats all ford would pay for.
Replace all spark plugs, They broke 3 of them taking them out.
All new gaskets.
They replaced a couple of bolts that broke while taking the engine apart.

Reason for all this work, The rings on cylinder #3 were put in wrong. the gaps on the rings were closer then 90 degrees. So ford built the motor wrong right from the factory. You would think all of this would be checked before installing the pistons.

Well now i will just drive the truck and see how she runs. Hopefully no problems. I would like to get a new ford in the future, But if this truck and Ford let me down i guess i'll have to go with a chevy or somthing different.

Well if anybody has any question or advice please let me know.....

Lightbulb

Drive it another year and a half, and then trade it on a new 2009 F150!
