Front end leaking grease?

Washing my truck last night I noticed what looks like grease splatter on both sides of the front suspension around the lower control arms. What am I looking at here? Is this the beginning of a problem?

If it is a 4x4 then check your CV joint boots on the axles. If they are ripped, cracked or torn they will need to be replaced. You would probably be better off to replace the whole CV axle assembly if that is the case as the joint will be contaminated with dirt etc. and not long for this world anyway.

Your CV axle boot is torn.

Ideally, you should replace the CV axle.

It is possible to replace the boot itself and pack new grease in the axle.

I agree. The peace of mind of knowing your stuff is new is well worth the cash.
