Question bigger tires

How much bigger of a tire size can i put on a stock 2002 FX-4,i dont have the funds for new rims ,so i plan on using the stock rims.Thank You for the help. Keith.

I am running 285/70/17 Bf All terrains on my 03 FX4 on stock rims with no issues, i ran 305/70/16 on my previous regular 4x4 with no issues. I have the tosion bars cranked up a bit.Name:  DSCN1091_zps07f03191.jpg

I've got 305/70-16 on mine with just torsions turned up
