20's with off-road tires on a stock setup?

I have a stock 2002 Ford Explorer and want to add some flavor with some 20 inch wheels. Does anyone have something similar mounted on some 30+ inch off-road tires on their stock truck? Ive never seen any lift modifications for my truck so is there anything simple that is a pretty much universal modification that works on most fords?
Any advice you have would be great.

How big do you want it? Nitto and Toyo both make mud tires in a 20inch size for a 35 inch off road tire. I personally plan to go with a 20 inch rim with a 37 inch tire.

i also really like the looks of the Toyo Open Country M/T 37" tire but getting them to fit would be almost impossible without some serious mods to my suspension which I have never seen before anyway... I think I might have to settle for the smaller toyo 32 inch and even then it might be a little tight.
