Like-New 2014 Ford Packs 700 HP and Some Serious Off-Road Chops

There are a lot of folks out there in the world who, despite some obvious benefits, refuse to believe that V6s belong in trucks. It’s the same folks who obviously despise the fact that Ford ditched the 6.2 liter V8 in the new 2017 Raptor in lieu of a V6. But no matter how loudly they shout about it, we’re unlikely to see another V8 Raptor. Their next best option? A used one, like this 2014 Shelby Extreme Raptor. We caught the decked out beast on eBay, where it was recently up for grabs.

Of course, this is not the type of used truck that presents much of a bargain — unless you compare the $87,000 asking price to the claimed initial investment of $130,000. Regardless, that money is buying you a lot of truck here. One with a 700 hp, Shelby tuned, Whipple supercharged V8. That’s the kind of power that’s sure to embarrass one of those V6 Raptor-driving non-believers.

But power is just the beginning of the story. This Shelby Raptor has a laundry list of upgraded suspension parts as well. They include Shelby three-inch shocks and springs, upper and lower control arms, and a rear frame gusset kit. It all rolls on a set of ProAM Desert Wheels. Adding to the truck’s off-road usefulness are Shelby bumpers, a host of KC lighting and an ADD rack over cab.

Despite the extensive work the original owner completed on the truck, he only managed to accumulate 8,000 miles in the last three years or so. So, you’re essentially getting a brand-new truck that can whip just about anything on (or off) the road. And if you’re one of those V6-hating truck lovers, that might just make it worth the $87 grand.
