Aged Well: Vinyl Wrap Designed to Make F-150 Look Rusted

Some clichés have real validity. The statement “beauty is in the eye of the beholder” proves it, and the fact that somebody actively went out, designed, and paid for a vinyl wrap that looks like rust upholds that age-old saying.

But that’s the best part of vinyl wraps. The owner might love the look now, but once it gets old, the flare runs out, and he or she wants something new, it’ll simply peel off ready for a completely new look.

The wrap for the 12th-gen Ford F-150 pickup was designed by a joint effort from WrapZone and Scott Skepple. The front portion of the wrap, before the A-pillar, and the truck bed shows a spotted lighter, almost orangey rust color, while the middle shows a deeper reddish brown rust color. Even the mirrors got the rust treatment.

If it weren’t for knowing the fact that this is a truck that’s less than 10 years old, you’d think somebody just founded amidst overgrown weeds tucked away in the back of some 30-acre farm in the middle of Nebraska. The grille and headlights need to be blacked out, though, to complete the look.
