i have a 94 f150 as my plow truck. i put big coil springs in the front to level her out. i put a 71/2 on the front. there is little sag when the plow is up. im sure your truck will be fine with an 8' on the front, i have seen plenty with them on. but if your just going to be plowing driveways and not roads i would go with a 71/2 it is the prefect size in my opinion. but if you are doing roads then an 8'.

I would suggest going with a 7.5'. Take a look at Snoway, Fisher, Western, and Boss. They all make lightweight plows for 1/2tons, Jeeps ect. I would personally go with either a Snoway or Western Suburbanite. But I know that Fisher is also big out east, make some calls and see what dealers have to say about the different brands and go from there.

yea i was worried about the sag on the front end killing it. did the coils affect the ride a lot.

I have heavy duty coils on my 94 F150 also, although I put them in my truck to lift the front of the truck and not actually to help carry more weight. It did stiffen the ride up, but its not that bad. For your truck I would suggest putting either a 1.5 or 2" leveling kit on the truck. That way you are not affecting the ride of the truck at all, but the front end also isn't nose diving with the plow.

if it was my truck, i would go with this setup~7.5' Pro Plow with the Ultramount hook-up. i know one guy who runs this setup and has no issues with it, he run's a leveling kit to keep the front end a tad higher, run's the stockers in the winter though. i'd like to see how long a tranny would hold up running 35's and plowing...not long i bet.

I'm going to put a plow on my F-150 Heritage. I know a local company that has 3 or 4 F-150 with plows on them and they hold up just fine. As long as you don't abuse your truck it will be just fine. I drove a V-6 F-150 with 7.5' plow on it and had no problems at all.

you can't put a "real" plow on any of the newer trucks, 1/2 tons i'm referring too. it sucks, the dealer will refuse to put it on. i can't would to get a v-boss:drool:

There are three 1/2 tons running around here with with 8'-2" BOSS Power V's on them and one of the trucks is a Nissan Titan. You can do it but its really hard on the front suspension. I am going to put a 9'-6" Western MVP on my truck next fall to plow here at work, my dads house and at camp.

there are alot of guys who don't care about the front end, but them bitch when they break.
