um...... wow! Yet after 11 pages I could not look away!!! I have pulled some heavy loads but some of yours are astonishing. The most I ever overloaded a truck was when I pulled a 67 caddy fleetwood on a flat bed trailer with a 00 4.2 and m5od ( never used 5th.) But to my credit I had helper springs, surge brakes on the trailer, bfg commercial tires, and even weight distribution (it had another engine in the trunk.) I have no idea as to the actual weight but it was definatly heavy. it took a little to get her going from a stop. but once she was rolling, 65 mph wasn't hard at all. feathering the brakes and downshifting made stopping a breeze. Of course, in the Marines, I drove m900 series 5ton trucks pulling a m198 16,000lb howitzer for 4 years in all types of terrain. the funny thing is the m900's max towing weight was actually 15,000lb and therefore the howitzer was actually overloading the truck! So shifty, I guess if the government can do it, why shouldn't you?

I could not stop laughing about that rubber mat. By far the funniest thing I've seen in quiet some time. The arguments are some of the best on here. Keep hauling shifty just use some tie downs lololol.

Skipped through this thread and thought it was pretty funny, Although i wouldn't agree with the extreme weight of this shifty guy, some of you on this forum are total. I imagine some of you would refuse to throw a cooler in the back if you and 3 buddies weighing 250lbs each along with your 500lb wife were in the vehicle.

Not that I like to admit but I once hauled a yard of 1 1/2" drain/river rock which I think weights in at just over a ton in the bed. Wasnt a fun ride to the job

That's some serious rust there... My utility trailers leaf springs and bolts are looking pretty nasty too.... The F150 is not that bad, thankfully!

Man this thread is great. Shifty you are the man. Hope to see some more heavy loads coming our way this year.

Years ago i was with an older fella that had an 80's f150 not sure the year exactly but we overloaded it with wood(unintentionally). After about 2 minutes down the hwy we realized we had severely overloaded this truck as any little bumps would cause the back end to sway around. Fortunately this doods cottage was en route to my house so we took it easy until we reached his cottage and halved our load. Ride was much better after that. I was impressed even though it was not our intentions to "over load" that the truck even though required low speeds had no problem.

Does no one remember the old commercials where the F150 climbed that hill with the Chev in the back? What about Chev's counter with the Chev with 2 F150's in the back? The companies make the claims.... its up to us to prove it.

Shifty does a great job proving it haha.

That was some pretty crazy in bed weight for that gen, but nothing compared to the actual load on the truck pulling 250-300bu corn to the elevator this past week. Rolled over the scale at a little over 24k truck and wagon. Did just fine at gravity box speed or 15-25mph, have to take it easy down the hills and usually leave it in 4 wd since its gravel and there is no additional weight other than the hitch on the truck. Other than power, not noticably easier than my old 3/4 ton dodge diesel at doing it. Had 8 round bales on a 25ft gooseneck on the old mans '06f150 crew/6.5, 5.4L Lariat with about 1" from the stops and it did fine, and didn't look nearly as scary as your truck did.

Reminds me of the time I had over 1300lbs of die steel in the back of an off road packed ranger.
