How long you guys going before needing brakes?
 

So far I have 26,000 miles and the brakes still feel great. Just curious.

I have 64500+ miles on my truck and the origanal brakes are still going strong.

replaced mine at roughly 36,0000.
2000 4x4 off-road ext cab.

I replaced my pads at 32,000. One of them was just about worn to the backing plate, but I got it before it scored the rotors.

I'm at 15,800 mi. with heavy, hilly city driving and the brakes look like new! I've also had to slam on the brakes at high speed on the freeway...no damage.

I drive 70 miles a day, in stop and go interstate traffic. I also pull a small tent camper. I have 72,000 miles on the original pads, rotors, and drums. No replacements, and the rotors and drums have never been turned.

I have 45,000 on my '98 and have not replaced anything yet. I am going to do the front pads within the next 5,000 miles. The rotors still look like new.

98 Flairside 2X4, replaced front brakes at 50K, getting ready to replace rear's now, I'm at 97K. I have had a ton of rotor problems, rotor warp every 10-15K.

I'm going to try the cryogenically treated system from Dyno brake, Mr. Poolvibe turned me on to them.

I've had three virtually identical (post 1997) F-150's and I've never touched the front brakes before 55,000 miles. I drive mostly highway miles and that might make them last longer. I also tow a number of different trailers - which should be harder on them. Maybe it balances out.

I've never replaced the rear brakes on any of my trucks because I trade them in at around 60,000 miles.

Having my front brakes replaced today along with the rotors, my 2000 F-150 has 33,000 miles on it. i bought the truck used with 20,000 miles from a dealer. It was traded in by a guy who had lived in Buffalo New York, hence the rusted rotors (or so the guy at the brake shop said)

Ready to turn the big 90K with original brakes on my 1998 F150,
just beginning to notice some increase in braking distance. It's just how you drive your vehicle.:cool:

60,000 on original. Trying to break my own world record on factory brakes that would legally pass inspection,

Had my rotors turned at 20K and new pads and rotors turned again at 42K, and at 70K replaced rotors with Powerslot rotors and again replaced the pads. BTW, my 4x4 Supercab with full tank of fuel and passengers weights close to 6,000lbs. Also my truck is a 98 with front disc and rear drum comb. I have not had to replace the rear shoes yet.

99 Supercab 4x4

I replaced brakes and warped rotors at 41k miles.
Dealer coverd hubs/bearings ball joints at 60k.
Needs rear brakes and my wife warped the front rotors again.

Got about 50,000 out of my original front pads. Have 58,000 now and the rear shoes are still original...
