General AmeriTrac tires
#4
I'm on my second set....
...of Generals and will probably switch to Michelins next time around.
The Generals last OK, but are relatively poor in the wet. I think they are a fairly "hard" rubber as tires go, and so are durable, but not "tacky".
Bought the second set b/c I lived in a relatively dry area at the time, but Houston is soaking wet and the tires are noticeably slippy in it. Michelin makes excellent tires for truck/SUV use that are really something else on wet pavement. I had them on a Lincoln (model got similar reviews for wet traction as the Corss Terrains for trucks) and they stuck like glue in the rain.
