Help Me Choose: American Racing AR-136 or Outlaw II
Ok..I have narrowed my choice of new wheels down to the American Racing Ar-136 and the AR Outlaw II.. So yall give me your opinion on what you think will look the best in 16x10 with BFG A/T 315/75/16's on my Black 99' offroad..
I would have attached the pics but for some reason was unable to and I cant seem to start my own gallery now either... They are the first 2 wheels you see at the top when the page opens.. Thanks http://www.natltire.com/ntw0799/page...r-OUTLAW-33869 |
A bizillion years ago (okay over a decade ago) I had some OutlawI rims on my first Firebird. I liked them so much I put them on my next Firebird. The machine finsh looks very "business like" but I had to use Eagle one machine finish cleaner (acid based) on them (the clear coating comes off) all the time. When the finish is exposed to the atomosphere oxidation would happen and the machine finish became dull fast. The chrome you can just wipe down.

http://www.natltire.com/ntw0799/media/Out2.jpg I kinda like the AR-136, chrome would look good on a black truck. The outlaw II looks more like a trailer wheel. |
Thanks for Putting those pics up PhillipSVT... Trailer Wheel? LMAO.... I think you may be right LOL.. I found it kinda hard to find a 16x10 Wheel that not everyone on here has already like the Baja.. My lift will be here an on by the middle of next week hopefully and I already purchased my tires locally for $210 each installed.. Im gonna tell them which Wheels to order Monday. I can get the 136's there for $147 each which is $1.30 more a piece than I found them online... Ahhhh I can't wait to get them on......

PhillipSVT,
Man, don't hold back and be shy, just tell us what you really think........"trailer wheel"....ha!!!!! |
in my opinion, the ar-136 looks much better than the outlaw. are you off-roading the truck at all? if you are, go with the outlaws, because chrome and dirt/rocks/mud/sand dont go along too well (at least the chrome on my AR rims dont like it too much). if its for looks only though, id DEFINITELY go with the ar-136's, theyre some sharp looking wheels.
|
Well I do tend to go offroad fairly often in the winter when hunting.. Primarily just mud.. What kinda problems would the 136 give me offroading? Dull the finish? Scratching? or what?
You know I'm actually now considering the Baja's as well.. Oh hell, just give me some opinions on any sharp 16x10 wheels you can think of, lol.. http://www.natltire.com/ntw0799/media/Baja.jpg |
Choice #3. The Baja's are the nicest IMHO.
|
I like the baja, looks nice.
Phillips opinion #2 -> The other wheel looks like an early 90's model rim. LOL |
Early 90's? LOL good one.... So the Baja has taken the lead.. and is coming down the back stretch... Come on lets have it...Any and all opinions accepted, good, bad or no credit.. Vote now to show your support for more attractive trucks in America....

I have the wheels just like the Bajas only by Eagle, on my 94, love them...

JDarty6173,
I recently went through the agony that you are currently going through, so I know how ya feel about picking the right wheel. Personally, I like to be a little different than everyone else. Many people seem to be running the BAJA's so I opted for the AR136's. I must say that I am very pleased. I have had them on since June and I have found them to be very easy to clean and polish. I off-road occasionally and have not noticed any scratching or dings yet. Attached is a photo link. I need to update with better pics but here is one that was taken the rain. Good luck! https://www.f150online.com/galleries....cfm?gnum=1831 |
