Will stock 16 in rims handle 80psi?

I just upgraded to LT rated tires. Does anyone know if the stock rims can handle the 80psi max pressure? They are the steel ones with polished aluminum over them. I don't think I will need that high because I will only be weighimg around 1/2 the rated tire cap. Thanks

at 80psi you will practically bounce off the road. I have LT265 70 17 on my truck and run 32-35 psi.

jefflaws, my tires say 40-80psi on them. Do you increase pressure when and if you tow?

Look at the label.

Aren't there warning labels on the inside of all wheels that say the max. pressure. I know I have seen it on some. Notice next time you have them pulled.
