It would be neat

I know my way around cars OK but some areas I admit it would be nice to have easier ways to do things. Wheels and tires is a good example.

Is there a source or a ready formula one can use to determine the outcome of changing a tire size?

For instance I can find the formula that tells me what my speedo difference is going to be when I go from my stock size tire to anything larger.

But it would be nice to see a source that goes over more variables.

Example:

Plug in your rear end ratio, your stock tire size and then plug in a new rear end ratio to a stock tire size or a new tires size to the stock rearend ratio etc. and get the resulting effects in say low speed, high speed, speedo differences, tranny difference, engine power effects etc.

It just seems like this would be tremendously helpful.

I agree these trucks need to have a good matching look for tires, but you shouldn't just throw something on without knowing the outcome to everything else.

Anybody know of a source or formula to use?

Thanks in advance,

TallTom

Here are some tire calculators I have found.

There are MANY more on the web. Just do a search for "tire size calculator" and you will find them all.

Interco's Website has a ton of calculators for gear ratios, speeds, tire conversion sizes, recommended gears for tire sizes...it probably has everything you want...
