2017 vs 2013 tire pressure sensor

I have a 2013 FX4 with factory 20 inch wheels. I'm putting 2017 /18 factory take offs Raptor wheels on the truck. Person I bought the wheels from advised the Raptor tire pressure sensors/ monitors did not work on his older f150. He advised he was not even sure if the Raptor wheels had the TPS in them. So I mounted them on my 2013 and drove it around, no light. I let the air out of one tire, no light. I'm taking it to the tire shop tomorrow to put different tires on it. Question #1 do I need TPS? Question #2 if the 2017/18 raptor wheels have TPS in them, will they work on the 2013 truck? I have the 2013 TPS in my factory wheels that I could use if needed. I just didn't want to take them out unless necessary.

You don't need TPMS.

But you might want those sensors after listening to the warning chimes and seeing the idiot light.

Personally, you shouldn't be driving if you can keep track of your tire pressures. But who am I?
