I have a 2014 Lariat and have never really liked the 14 spoke wheels. It is time for new tires so I figure instead of putting new tires on the rims that I do not like let me look on Craigslist and see whats up. Sure enough a brand new set of 2018/Lariat wheels/Michelin tires and lug nuts with less than 100 miles on them for $1,000 (pretty much the same price as new tires alone). Called the guy and went and picked them up. Got em home, pull a lug nut off of my wheels and try a new nut for giggles and guess what? Different threads!!!! R u kidding me? Is this a US made truck? OK, pull the old wheel off and put the new wheel on and it actually fit, whew! So, I try my old lug nuts. They tighten up but are not a finished nut, look like crap. THE MAIN QUESTION IS; IS THE TAPER ON THE LUGS NUTS AND THE WHEEL THE SAME ON ALL FORD TRUCKS OR RATHER A 2014 VS. 2018. I could buy a finished lug I'm sure. but the taper?????

 

Toss both sets of lug nuts and get some real nuts...
