Clicking/Ticking from front end

I just had my 1993 Ford F-150 4-wheel drive truck inspected at a shop and replaced the spark plugs last week. I took it on a trip, and when I arrived I noticed this clicking/ticking noise coming from what seems like the front driver side tire. The noise sounds like a rock in the tire, but there isn’t. I’m not sure if this is related, but I shifted into 4-wheel drive, started driving, and there was a severe grinding noise. I shifted out of 4-wheel drive and the grinding noise continued until I shifted into neutral and then back into drive. It then when back to the clicking/ticking noise. The noise doesn’t occur when I’m turning or applying the breaks. Last summer I put new rotors, break pads, and calipers on the front end and had the shop properly tighten the bearings. I need to drive a couple hunded miles back home in a couple days. Any ideas of what the issue is and how I could fix it?
