Question stock F 150 FX4 18" wheels.....

need to be refinished as the plastic coating is falling apart.....has anyone ever tried to repair theirs ?
plan on keeping the truck, it's a 2008, it only has 68K miles

Best way is to bring it to a body shop willing to take on the task.

It is doable and they will come out nice.

If you really want to do it yourself, take a look on YouTube and get some ideas.

Doesn't matter if it's a Ford rim or a XYZ model rim. Process works for pretty much all aluminum rims.

The other option is to contact a wheel refurbisher, and a lot of times they will buy back your rims and you pay 1/2 price or something for a new set of the same rims.

Or it won't hurt to upgrade your rims either with aftermarket.

I've been told "Easy Off" will get the clear coat off. Then lot's of elbow grease to polish them...
I had a set of Mustang rims powder coated black for about $250. I'm sure your neighborhood has similar deals.
