2004 Wheel Opinion
A couple questions for you guys. I purchased Moto Metal 18X9 with a +18mm offset back in 2007. Running a 2" leveling kit and 325/60/18's.
As you can see in the pic below, the chrome on the rims is starting to look terrible. I know they need to be cleaned too.
Question 1: Is there a recommended paint or coating to apply to make these look great again that would last several years and cost <$100/wheel? I looked at PlastiDip, but I suspect it won't last a year.
Question 2: Another option, I am considering purchasing OEM takeoff's from a 2015 F150 18" rims. I assume they will fit the 2004 with no issues. If I go this route, I'm thinking of dropping the tire size to 305/60/18. I would like to improve fuel economy and reduce the amount of tire that is outside the wheel well. Will this size fit ok on an OEM rim? Will this size fill up the space okay with the 2" Level? Should be about an inch shorter and an inch narrower too. Is there a better size to consider.
Of course brand new wheels would look great, but I don't want to invest that kind of cash right now.
Thanks
