Q? Brake adjuster moves when?

If the brake drum is sufficiently worn to allow the automatic brake adjuster to tighten the brakes, does the star wheel move when the brake adjuster cable tightens or is it moved by the adjuster lever return spring when the brake is released?

Since nobody chimed in, I researched this and answered my own question. Although the basic operation of a drum brake is always the same their are numerous designs to accomplish this. The brake adjusting lever can be mounted above, below, on the drum side, or on the backing plate side of the star wheel so the adjuster may move up or down to tighten the pads. Simple way to tell is look for the 'flat' side of the star wheel tooth, the 'flat' side is pushed to tighten the adjustment.
