are drilled and slotted rotors worth it?
 

its about time for brakes all the way around on the truck, the rear rotors have a good lip on them and its starting to shake on the brakes, so im planning on pads and rotors all the way around. plus with 125k they are most likley the original rotors. so im considering powerstop vented and drilled rotors and ceramic pads. is the performance better enough to justify the extra 150 bucks or so? i drive fairly hard and tow often but never very heavy. so whats everyones thoughts?

I don't think so. I have not seen any holes in the Nascar cars brake rotors. I would buy a good quality solid rotor. The cheap ones warp.

Really only help in high heat situations such as mountain driving or racing. Plus, the drilled ones tend to eat up pads.

I have the powerstop drilled and slotted and they have been great so far. My Oem rotors warped by 25k miles with mostly highway driving. These powerstops help the truck stop stronger with no fade. I have got more miles out of these then i did my OEM rotors. Can't beat the price either. With 2 rotors and tow pads it was 200 bucks to my front door.

now since they run cooler wouldnt the rotors last longer also?

I got the Powerstop 1 click brake kit for my truck a couple months ago, and it's been sitting in my shop waiting to get put on. I did open the package to inspect them, and they do look of good quality. I also got the Centric hubs, since mine is a 4x2 so all I have to do in the future is just use 4x4 rotors on the front.

I plan on getting Powerstop's painted calipers too, along with some stainless hoses this summer and put the whole thing together.

Right now, I'm still running stock pads and rotors with about 60k on them. No warpage either.

I would just do the front set and the back set leave stock. but buy a good set rotors for back. Ive had powerstop on a ford truck 2001 had no complaints. Did all four corners.
