35's

Okay so price really isn't a huge factor at all pretty much what I am looking for is the longest lasting best looking A/T but would consider M/T if they last a long time tire. I'm running 315/75/R16 gonna be switching to 315/70/R17 here when I find a tire that's good. I understand the bigger tires don't have very good thread life but just looking for something that will last me a little longer then my kumho roadventure m/t's did. They got roughly 10,000 miles and they are half tread or a hair less and I rotate them every 3,000 miles and the truck is perfectly aligned. So tell me what tires yall like and pics are always sweet too !

315x70x17 BFG AT's

Took these tires off and sold them at 43K miles...they still had half of the tread left.

I'm running duratracs right now they are only 295/65/18 but they do come in a 35/12.5/17 configuration. Either those or my other choice would be the Toyo AT2 Xtremes. My dad has those on his Cheby in 285/65/18 and they are pretty nice work well and are aggressive looking.

Alright I'll check them out !

I've always been able to easily get 60k miles out of BFG AT KO's. Our Jeep currently has 50k miles on it with plenty of thread left (size 305/65-17).

I've heardfrom a lot of people they have excellent tread life. One guy that is very trustworthy said he had them on his Chevy for 8 years and he drives it pretty much every day. How do they go in like muddy conditions and snow ?

I loved my 315/75r16 Yokohoma Geolander M/T's I had on my last truck. Would have easily been able to get 40-50k out of them if I had kept them rotated properly. Even with bad rotations (I rotated them twice...) I got around 30k out of them and they still had around 1/4 tread when taken off.

And being on a 2wd drive truck they exceeded my expectations in mud and snow.

Alright I'll check them out too. I don't think I'm getting the bfgs because I heard with there tight tread pattern they suck in mud and snow and because of the tread pattern hats why the wear so good

I have heard this exact same thing from buddies that have used them. Said they were form over function.

I heard that as well too, they just don't clean out well.

BigBuckMafia Jan 6, 2015 12:28 PM

Yeah I heard they wear like iron but it's because the tread pattern is so close but they don't clean out good at all. I just don't know what kind of tire to go with yanno ? Alot of times you see a tire and are like wow them look awesome then they turn it being total junk yanno ? 😂

Toyo AT2 (Extremes) are supposed to last a REALLY long time from things I've read and customer testimonies, forums, etc. Like several people getting 90k miles kind of long time. I haven't been impressed with the last few family BFG purchases, though none have been the ATKOs

I would look into the new Toyo Open Country R/T, they are cool looking tires and have a 45K mile tread warranty. I don't think they offer it in a 315/70/17 though but they do have a 35x12.50x17.

BigBuckMafia Jan 6, 2015 09:17 PM

That's the same size that's just the metric ratio I'll check them out. Sounds good for the toyos

KMAC0694 Jan 7, 2015 10:09 AM

The Toyo R/T is brand new, but I can only assume they use the same good tread compound used in the MT and AT, both of which last a long time.
