Hi All, new to the forum and have a question about possibilities of tire sizes. I know this topic has been exhausted :noob: and I am sorry to ask yet again but can't find a definite answer other than photos and a post by a member on this forum named "EBROTEN".

I have a '13 xlt 2wd with leveling shocks and procomp 1089s (17x9, 4.75"bs) and am curious if 305/65r17s will fit. Erboten's truck shows a '07 xlt 2wd with the same setup, so I'm assuming it will fit but wanted to check with you guys to see what your thoughts are.

The only other leveled 2wd I have seen on the forums is using 285/70r17s bfgs, so I know that will work but I really would rather get the wider 305/65r17 if possible. Thank you!!

I am also looking at up sizing my tires, but i have a 4x4 with no level. I am looking at 285x70x17 - 32.7"x11.2. I have a friend that has a stock 4x4 XLT and she is running 305/60/18 - 32.4"x12" on after market wheels. (not sure backspacing) but she has a little rubbing at full turn. Not sure if any of that helps.

Yes, they will fit. The 10-14's seem to have slightly larger wheelwells than the 04-09 trucks.

Thank you both so much Wandell and KMAC0694!! Any chance of a 295/70r17 fitting with the wheels that I have? I probably should have reworded my first question to "what is the biggest tire size I can fit on my setup?" :)

Those should be fine too, still relatively small and just over 33". They might rub a teeny bit on the plastic valance cause of how wide they are, but I highly doubt it.

On a 2wd I think it would be close but ought to fit. Here's some 295x70x17 Toyo MT's on 17x9 with 5 inch backspacing wheels...this was my '04 Lariat 4x4 with a 2 1/2 inch leveling kit...not even close to rubbing!https://www.f150online.com/forums/me...ure57850-a.jpg

PawPaw - your truck looks great!! Thanks for posting the pic, helps me get an idea for what 295s would look like.

KMAC - thanks so much for the help. Do you think trail grappler mts would work in the 295/70 size if I trimmed the plastic valance a bit?

The side lugs on those tires are pretty sizable, but you'll probably be alright. I was think an AT before, but that's my fault cause I should've asked what type of tire you were thinking of. You can go out and look at your truck and see how much that valance hangs down in the way. It gives you a pretty good amount of room to play with.

Do you have the Bilstein shocks or the Rancho Quicklifts? If you're getting a true 2.0"+ lift up front, you should alright. A little bit of scrubbing isn't a big deal.

PawPaw's old truck is a solid 2+" taller than yours because it's a 4x4, and those tires are filling his wheel wells quite a bit.

I have the pro comp pro runners for leveling shocks, its supposed to be a 2" lift, but it actually lifted my front end about 2.5", I think bc I have the lighter v6. My front is almost a full inch higher now than the back, need to install a 1" block or the rear 1" leveling shocks to get it level.

The wildpeak 265/70s I have on it now look really small and narrow even with the new 9" wide wheels so trying to figure out what size will look better. I guess my fear is that the 285/70s won't look much bigger/different than what I have now, so I was kinda leaning towards the 295 if I can fit them. Which size do you think would be better?

Thank's...the 295x70's are (33.5x12) and with your wheel's they would stick out maybe a 1/4" more then mine did. The mud tires will look larger then the all terrains due to the wide side lugs on them. Toyo makes Nitto tires so the Trail's ought to look close to the same as the Toyo MT's. On your newer body design you'll have a little more room in the front wheelwells so I think they'll clear...just remember these are heavy tires and performance and mileage will suffer.

I forgot pro comp made those! Okay, yeah I added 2" rear blocks to give my 2wd a bit of rake after the level made it bulldog a bit.

One thing with those Falkens, like my BFG Rugged Terrains, is that they look aggressive but might as well be street tires IMO as far as the tread goes. So, both of our tires look (and are) much smaller than a full blown MT in the same size because the lugs on an MT are huge. 285/70/17s would only be moving up 1", but it would look larger than a 1" increase, because well, it would be haha. I say just get those 295s anyway. They're only 33.2+" by 11.6+" and with 2.5" of lift, I don't see them being an issue. But I think you'd be happy with the 285s as well and I would maybe go with them if there's a substantial price difference.

Ope, well PawPaw beat me to it haha. But it's good that we had the same to say. That little 3.7 is gonna feel weighed down by the fatter tires too, so the smaller the better there too.

PawPaw- How far does your ties stick out past your fenders with the 5 in backspacing?

KMAC0694-I have a 07 4x4 f150 and lookinh at new wheels and tires. I have a Pro Comp 2 inch leveling kit. I want to put 33's on with 18 inch wheels. What should be a good width for tires and rims?
