2009 F150 STX 4x4 Super Cab
 

I have a 2009 F150 STX 4x4 Super Cab that I have put a 2.5inch leveling kit on from BDS suspension and am wanting to know what you all recommend for tire size. I don't want to have to worry about the tires rubbing.

The truck came with 275/65R18 tires and 3.73 gears with the 4.6L 2V

I am also planning on upgrading the wheels at the same time.

A 275x70x18 (33.2x11) or a 295x70x18 (34.4x11.2) or anywhere in between with your 4.6. A 18x8.5 wide wheel with 5.5 inches of backspace would be great.

Pretty much agree with PawPaw! Though 295/70/18s will likely rub a little bit. 275/70/18 is the sure-fire bet and will also likely be the cheapest tire that's a full 33" tall.

275/70/18 if you stick with 18s

275/60/20 if you jump to 20s

I am leaning toward Toyo Open Country A/T in 295/70R18

At least you have the 3.73's with the 4.6....a programmer" if you don't have one" will let you adjust for the taller tires and to adjust shift point's.

are you aware that you are going to lose some power and mpgs by going to that tall of a tire?

So staying closer to a 33 would be a better choice?

For power, shift points, and speedo, yes. The latter 2 can be corrected via programmer (this would help with power some too) or a dealer flash or device to change tire size. But also, you said you didn't want to worry about rubbing, so make sure the wheels you get are around a 0 offset, maybe slightly positive.
