I have been talking about painting my XD monsters to match my truck. Possibly powder coat them, but I work in a body shop and paint daily, so I can color match them no problem. I'm just wondering about the fake "bolts" around the wheel. Anyone ever remove them? I need to remove them and put them back, which means I don't want to break them or damage them taking them off. Just thought I'd ask before attempting it. I'm in need of new tires soon, so I figured it would be good to paint them at the same time.

Plus everyone is rolling black wheels around here, haven't seen any painted to match

I do not know as far as nut/bold accent removal, but I want to say they are glued on. Would like to put brand new apparel on my 4yr old wheels though, age has diminished the clean luster of the fake chrome.

I have however, seen on RimzOneOnline's facebook page, they paint some wheels for customers and use top quality clear coats. They have done Camo Rockstar wheels and I have seem some burgundy XD wheels on a burgundy truck once. Give them a call and see how they do it.

 

That's a good idea. I remember when you had you maroon truck lol. Its been awhile since I've surfed forums....
