No ABS light, ABS pulsing at 10 mph

Hello all,

I have read through as many posts as I could find, but have not located an answer that helped me out.

A few weeks ago I came to a stop and the brake pedal pulsed, then the ABS light came on and it did not pulse again because the ABS system was off.

Then my battery died and would not take a charge, but I don't think the two are related.

Most of the time the main culprit is the rear sensor on the differential. So I purchased and replaced that. Started truck and light was off, however, when I drove it and hit 10 MPH the pulsing of the brake pedal was back, but the light has not turned on. My brake shop scanned it and said they were getting a drop off of the rear sensor, ie. the fronts were reading 12 mph and the back was 0.

Since the ABS light is not on, it is receiving a signal from a good sensor, but its the wrong signal.

Anyone had this experience or can help diagnose a solution. We're going to have the harness replaced and see if the wiring was bad.

Also, I have examined the front sensors and they both look okay.

Thanks!

sounds to me like you got a bad rear sensor... try exchanging it for a different one.

Or maybe its the wrong sensor?

Either way, the signal its sending is not right

That was the first thing I tried, but still had the same result.

What mkosu 04 is saying is the new sensor may be bad out of the box.

Could also be corrosion inside the connector causing a bad signal.
