Do I need D or E Load Rating for Truck Camper
Hi.
Do I need D or E Load Rating for Truck Camper?
Also, are Ford OEM FX4 rims ok for 80 PSI?
Background: Found a great Slide in Truck Camper for my 2006 SCREW 4x4 5.4L Short Short Box. All fiberglass, small, short, no tanks and fits perfect. Figure the Camper weighs 800 Ibs.No, I will not be upgrading to a F250. COG OK. Test drove good.
Cheers & Thanks

Air bags. I have air lift ride rite kit that was 200 bucks. I just use a small air compressor to pump them up. Work great. Four wheeler and dirtbike in the bed with 25 foot travel trailer. I have two inch level and it was still level with them at 80 psi. They don't change your payload, but do keep it level.

F150 Truck Camper
Nice rig Jerry
I'm up North and local Spring guys says Air Bags too easy to break
in Snow and Ice. He is suggesting Helper Spring. Maintenance Free.
At the same time I'd like to upgrade rims and Tires. I like stock Fork
FX4 rims and they seem to come up on used market.
Cheers

I put add a leafs on the rear of my 01'. ordered thru Summit racing, made by super lift. also put new U bolts and Spring retainers on it when i did the add. works great to keep the load leveled when i tow the trailer and load the ATV in the back.
one thing to remember if you do the AAL you'll be setting another 2.5 inches higher in the back so you need to do the front level kit too. if your not looking for the lift then go with the air bags, you can level when you load it then back to normal when not. they seem to be a good system if it's used right.
the wheels.... should have no problem with the air PSI, I'd do an E rated tire but you still shouldn't have to run that much air in the tires. makes for a hard ride. I've never gone above 65 no mater what i had in the bed or towed.
