~ Baja ATZ vs Duratracs
Going to be getting tires n wheels at the end of the summer and curious to see what you guys think of the following tires?
Size will be 305-55-20... Mickey Thompson Baja ATZ http://www.offroaders.com/tech/AT-MT-Tires/Mickey-Thompson-Baja-ATZ-Radial-SLT.htm Goodyear duratracs http://www.offroaders.com/reviewbox/showproduct.php?product=789 |
I have some friends that rand the Bajas. They traded them for other stuff. The tires wore out quick on pavement and only had good traction going forward.

The Mickey Thompson ATZ's and the Duratracks constantly revieve great reviews. My only problem with the ATZ is that they have three different tread patterns, depending on the tire size.
|
I've always loved the looks of the ATZ's personally. The duratracs aren't bad looking either. Doubt you will go wrong either way.
|
Love my Duratracs, I have ridden in a F150 with the ATZs too. I liked them as well. The ATZ were really expensive though
|
I just got Duratracs on yesterday. I also looked at the ATZ's. There wasn't much of a difference in price from my tire guy, but I liked
The look of the Duratrac better. He didn't say anything about the ATZ wearing faster. I am very happy with the Duratrac and they really aren't as loud as you would think. We will see once they break in a little (if that even matters) but so far they really aren't any louder than the Firestone Destination AT that were on my truck prior. Both are a sweet looking tire IMO. |
I've had the baja ATZ's for a little over a year now and love them. Same size as you're getting, 305-55-20. They have great traction with minimal road noise and still look new with over 12K miles on them. A little on the high side for an all terrain but well worth it IMO, I'd recommend them to anyone.
|
It depends on what tread style you are going with but I really like the ATZ. If I wanted a all terrain tire they would be my choice.
