New Tire/Wheel combo for 2001 4x4

Newbie here and I've searched for an answer but really have gotten different info so here it goes:

2001 scab 4x4 stock/ no lift - looking for a new tire and wheel combo that will get me the largest size tire. I want a wide profile tire and one that fills up the wheel well nicely. I'm not that knowledgable about backspacing, etc. so I'd appreciate any and all help.

Thanks a lot...Jon

You want a 10 inch wide wheel with 4.5 inches of backspacing and a 33x12.50 tire. You will have to trim a little plastic off the front bumper's lower valance for clearance. Whether you want a 16 or 22 inch diameter wheel is strictly a matter of personal preference. I have pics in my gallary at stock height with 33's on 16x10's.

Thanks wandell.

I actually looked at your pictures yesterday. So your suggestion is what you had on your truck before you lifted it?

Yes, a 33x12.50 with a 10 inch wide wheel will fit at stock height with minor trimming.

while i'd prefer 18's for looks, i have 16x10's and 305/70 bfgs...absolutely love them for everything when it comes to driving. i've actually taken my torsion bars back down to a stockish hight and still never rub. i only have a couple pics but there are a few in my gallery.

i'm waiting on some 285's and 17x9's right now but i think the 305 on a 16 is a nice look for the 97-03's.

Here's my 02 Screw FX4 with 20x10's and 33x12.5 tires. 4.5" Backspacing on the wheels and bit of crank to the torsion bars for leveling and fitment.

Thanks for all the advice, pics, and suggestions.

Looks like I'll go with a 33x12.5 tire..probably some BFG AT/KO as I always liked there performance on and off road.

So, anyone have a good online source for wheels? I've checked all the popular sites and haven't found a good selection of 16x10 wheels in a 5-135 bolt pattern.

Also, I was hunting around looking to possibly purchase a tire/wheel combo all mounted and balanced and delivered to your door. Is there some kind of trick on these sites to ordering this in the size wheel and tire I want? Whenever I put my truck into the info it is requesting, (on tirerack for example) it really limits your search to stock type wheels and tires. Can I place a special order online somehow?..or anywhere for that matter?

Thanks again.

Wheels in our 5x135mm bolt pattern are becoming scarce. I'd contact Derrik here. He works for Tire Rack.

You will have to trim a little extra.
