Parking brake?!!???

Okay some background, my parking brake cables were hanging loose and the brakes were barely engaging, I tightened up the hanger type thing and now the cables are just about tight so the brakes engage fully, but now my right rear won't disengage fully.
I loosed the adjustment thingamajig inside the brake assembly and it is still hung up. What should I do now?

Try tapping on the backing plate to jar it loose. It's drum brakes right?

Did you loosen the cable back up?

It is drum brakes, I can get the drum off if I tap the back of it with a hammer until it slides past the shoes. I have yet to loosen the cable back up but I'm not sure why I would need to whenever there is still slack in the line now.
I guess I'll try some more things tonight and post again.

Replace the pads and clean the crap out of the whole system.

I took the whole parking brake assembly apart tonight, talk about a pain in the ass.
I got the cable off and worked it back n forth with a vise n some pliers, lubed it up pretty good and I though it was working better. It's still sticking though, I guess Ill just break down and buy a brake cable.
