Advice on new tire decision

Time for new tires. Ive got Nitto 420S 305/50/20 on right now. (120H if that helps at all too) Heres my dilemma. When on fully locked turn the tires rub. I have the rear dropped 2", so these tires take up a nice portion of the wheel well gap. What are my options? Can I go to a smaller/lower profile tire if I wanted to lose the tire rub? Whats the tallest tire I could run with a 2/4" drop that I might do in the near future? If i put tires that fit that drop, would the truck look weak? Lots of questions I know! Id like to have Nitto and Toyo in the options with other tires that you guys recommend for me.

Thank you I really appreciate all the help

Ok lets forget about the drop for now. What are my options? Go smaller with a lower profile tire?

How bad are you rubbing? You can lower the sidewall height with a lower profile tire; e.g., a 305-50-20 would give you .6 inch less height without losing any width. However, if it is an offset issue with your wheels you may also need to go to a narrower tire as suggested.

Where is it rubbing? Just looking at your sig pic you appear to have plenty of room around the fenders. If it is at full lock hitting the sway bar or other frame/suspension components then it is probably the width and not the height. If that is the case then just go more narrow with something like a 275/60/20.

You can see in these pictures where it hits. I made a mistake. They are 305/50/20...not 55. By these pics, can you tell me if its the width issue or if I go to a 305/45/20 will i lose the rubbing.

I dont have much help for ya buddy but my recommended tire would be the BfGoodrich KDW 2. By far the best tire I have run but my 23inch wheels make it hard to test everything. I am running the Kumho Ecsta STX's right not and I like them very much. A little less grip as the bfg's but they have been good so far. Good luck with everything man!

rubbing sway bar and frame like that is definitely a width issue, go down to 275-45-20 as i suggested earlier. Smaller tire will make your wheel look a little bigger too

when i was 3/5 on stock tires i rubbed a little at full lock but those were big 255-70-16s

Alright I'll go 275/45/20... That will be a lower profile tire correct? I'll look into the bfg KDW2, any other tires you guys recommend? I'm looking at spending $150 per tire of possible and I want the smooooothest ride possible. Thanks guys your all huuuuge help

Going to a lower profile tire (45) will cause the ride to be rougher correct? Less tire cushion...? Sorry if Im coming off as a noob. I have limited knowledge of tires and offset and all that fun stuff.

Yes, less sidewall means stiffer ride. And from the pic you have a width issue. Look at the width of the tires you are interested in and compare. It varies some by brands and I doubt there would be much difference in width between a 275/45 and a 275/55. If you are concerned about ride quality every extra bit of sidewall will help.
