Off Road Tires on a FX2???

I just bought a 2010 FX2 in Tuxedo Black and wanted to get some of your opinions on wheels. Is it taboo to put off road tire and wheels on a 2 wheel drive truck??

I was looking at the 23" Saleen wheels, but this is a work truck I drive all over the place and job sites and don't want to be over stated? Maybe I should just get rid of the FX2 decal and go off road...what do you guys think? I have tough skin so let me have your honest opinion.

Or you could trade it in and get a REAL truck! Just kidding. I have seen lots of FX2s with bigger tires. It will be helpful to post a pic or 2 of your truck so you can get some good wheels opinions. Do you plan on leveling it?

Nothing wrong at all with a fx2 goin offroad. Hell, I would buy a fx2 just for the interior .

However, I think the 23" saleens would be dead sexy, and I would have to steal it from you.

Man I know, I really thougt hard about getting the FX4 but I drive all over town doing sales and project managment so the better gas mileage won over the two to three times a year I go hunting. If I go off road I would level it...

If you go with the saleens your tire choices are going to be limited. I am not sure anyone makes an AT in a 23 inch?

I talked to a buddy and he can get me some for $1100....not what I was looking to pay but if I go with some Toyo Open Country I would be paying as much if not more for what I want.

I have a 2010 FX2 in black as well. I plan to bring the either lower the back end or get airbags just in the rear incase i have a load I can always keep it level. But I think I will go 20's or 22's with terra grapplers. I do see some dirt and gravel so it would be nice to have a tire that will work well. So i think an AT would work well on an FX2.

How much did you lift and can I get away with just a 2" level if I go 20" monsters with 33" Open Countrys?

Yea you can get 33" with a 2" level. You can get 35" I believe. Its just you gotta watch on your backspacing and tire width.

Why would you lower the back and put an AT tire? ? ?
