Need help deciding on tires....295/60 or 305/55

Need some help on deciding guys....I've got an 06 150 FX4 w/ 2" leveling kit and the stock 20s. I now have the 275/55 nasty ass looking pirelli car tires. I got traumatized with this look and want the highest sidewall possible w/o having to modify. Friend is running 305/50 w/ no rub but still low sidewall..do u guys think any of those tires i mentioned would work?...thinking about the nittos, cooper zeon and maybe dunlap maxx trac..Your input is greatly appreciated folks!!

I've got the Zeon's and love them. Check the sig. I think Nitto's new 296/60's would be beauty also.

Those Coopers sure do look nice....so they're the 305/55? Do you have any rubbing?

How's the ride.....i heard they make higher than normal road noise..

I have the coopers on stock 20's in 305/50 and they do rub at full lock on the sway bar. No big deal to me though. For a tire as aggressive looking as they are the road noise is low but I am sure it will be a bit more than your pirelli.

Terra Grappler 295/60/20's They are E-rated tires though so kinda heavy for a half ton truck.

Those 295 60 in Nitto look nice but it's true....those tires are definitely going to have some weight on them but I havent seen any tires close to any of these sizes w/ 6 ply..besides, they would probably be a better ride on the highway. Does anybody know of a big tire w/o the full E range or less than 10ply?...

hey check my pics i had 305 55 20 bfg km2's and i thought they looked really small so i got 35's

Did u have to do anything to the truck by going with the
35x12.50...think u said only have a leveling kit right? Any rub from them?...they look nice but thought they would be too big for my setup

Nitto Terra Grapplers come in both LT305 55 20 and a P305 55 20 with an XL load rating. I've also been looking at these with adding a 2" leveling kit. The E rated Nittos also run about $30 more a tire at NTB. I was also considering the LT285 55 20's to eliminate any potential rubbing.

Go on Nitto's website for actual tire sizes (in Sizes and Specs). Sometimes the metric numbers don't match up that well. Looks like they have 2 285's, 295, and 3 305's that are less than 35" tall.

Go with the Nitto trail they are a great tire have alot of good reviews

You heard wrong, I can't hear them on the road. I had Cepek FC-II's on there before, now they made a lot of noise. The Zeon's are very quiet, plus I think they're one of the nicest looking tires out there. I don't have any rubbing either.

Man....all these tire sizes and setups look pretty sweet...I really like the 295-60 sideweall but the 305's width gives it the meaty look...I guess it's going to boil down to the pocket book...These damn tires are almost like a truck payment each so I'm going to call around and check different places...Wish they had like a buy 1 get 3 free like the fireworks people...that would be sweet...invest some money into the motor instead of tires...These tires are expensive and want to make sure I get the best look...Need a cig....:smoke:

there is another option, but it'll cost you big time. toyo makes the open country a/t in a 305/60/20. meaty and tall. they're beautiful tires but hugely expensive!!
