Up sizing tires on my F150XLT supercab $x$

I have a 2006 F150XLT Supercab 4x4 short bed with P235/75/R17 tires. I would like to use a set of P265/65/R17 a friend has offered me and would like to know if they will work and clear the body ok with out modifying anything. I also have ford mud flaps on the truck. I am concerned that they may rub on the front since they are wider than the 235 tires. Has anyone used this size on this truck?

Yes, they will fit fine. Most people put 285/70/17 on them with no rubbing. so im sure a 265/65/17 will fit just fine.

Thanks for your info. I know the height will be ok, my main concern was if the tire would be to wide. I believe it is approc 1 3/8 - 1 1/2 wider and I did not want to remove my Ford mud flaps.

Here are some pics of mine... They aren't too tall or too wide. I have a 2wd w/ no lift or level. They don't rub at all.

And don't be put off by the low price - they are GREAT all around tires for an F-150 and the other sizes are considerably more spendy. I think Goodyear just has extra production capacity in this size, a size that happens to be well suited to most F-150's.

You might even still be able to get a $60-$80 rebate on a set of four. That makes them a screamin' deal.

I just ordered 4 of the 255/75/17 Silent Armor tires. Hard to beat the $108 per tire price, plus a $40 rebate. Can't wait till their installed.

So you know, a 265/65r17 will be a shorter tire than a 235/75r17.

Got the 265/65/17 used tires with 8000 miles on them installed and they fit great. Have no rubbing problems at all even with the factory mud flaps on. Conrads tire said my factory 235 size was actually undersized for the F150 supercab 4 x 4 that they showed 255 as the tire that should have been on the truck. Got the 4 tires taken off the toyota rims and installed on my rims and a alignment out the door tax and all for $150 The tires were free.
