Toyo MT or Cooper STT

Well i have 33" Toyo now which I love. I was wondering is the Toyo worth the extra $350? I know the Toyos are real heavy and heard the Cooper are lighter. Which ones should I go with? Size is 35x12.5x20

The Toyo's are heavy from the stronger tread lugs, a great load E tire. I have 33x12.5 20s and they are great. Ware has been hardly any at all with 4500 miles so far. Only bummer is the economy drop and high rpm power loss.

For a MT tire I don't think you can beat the Toyo's for wear.

Yea they were great for me, but the weight killed my truck and wasn't worth it in the long run.. Other then that I loved my toyo's!

Well, mpg for sure, lost about 3.5-4mpg. I lost alot of noticeable power. When the truck was towing , even small loads, and sometimes empty it would struggle bad when shifting into od, sometimes making a slight metal clanking sound and slight vibration. I had them in 285 75 18's. After two years with them I gave in and sold them and bought nittos in 33" and the truck has gained back everything the toyo's took away. The ones I had weighed 75lbs a piece and were 35" tall x about 12" wide.

Any large M/T tires will effect mpg... The Toyos will give a person 50,000 miles with proper care... And for safety, the Toyos provide great handling with rain, snow, or ice... I would not change my choice...

Plus they look cool...

Agreed they were great in every condition. But there was obvious issue with some sort of drive line struggle with mine, as I talked about in my above post. That and 9mpg were the end of them for me. I miss the look, but thats it. The were way too heavy. Not every size for them was as heavy as mine though, you gotta look it up on toyos site.

The toyo Mt. According to toyo the 315 is a 35" tire but no wider than my 33's.Just wanted to go back to 35's. Supposed to be sold locally when my tires come in.

I actually was shopping the same two tires in a 305/70 16. Ironically, the price difference when I checked was less than $200. Given the Toyo's E rating, that's a no brainer. Cooper was doing good with this tire back when it was the economical choice, but for the same price there's no real good reason to pick it over the Toyo. With such a small price difference, the only reason I would see someone picking the Cooper over the Toyo would be completely based on looks...if you by chance liked the Cooper better.
