LT275/70R18 Goodyear Silent Armor...Mistake???
I just purchased some LT275/70R18 to replace the OEM BFG's on my 06 F150. I have only driven to work twice, a total of 20 miles but I am getting the feeling the size increase may have been a mistake. We pull a trailer, that is mainly the reason for the 8 ply tires.
The tires seam to run quiet and ride OK but I am unsure of the handling. Anyone have comments?

What specifically has you questioning handling? Any LT tire is going to feel significantly different then the mushy P275/65-18 stock BFG's. You'll probably need to play with tire pressure to find your trucks sweet spot. (40 - 45 psi works well)
I have Cooper Discoverer ATR's LT275/70-18 E range on my 07 with 24k on the tires without a single issue. They have done a great job handling everything I've thrown at them.
While my Cooper's are not the same as your Goodyears. Heck, yours are a step up in overall performance. I'd say you'll be just fine and only need to become aclimated to the different feel the taller tire offers.

The Goodyear Wrangle SilentArmors are great tires.
I'm gonna put a set on my truck when I get my new wheels.
Even better, I get the nice employee discount for working for Goodyear.
And, for what it's worth, both of my bosses run them on their trucks (07 Mark LT and 08 Ram 1500), as well as one of my co-workers on his rig.(03 Jeep Wrangler X)
I've been thru some nasty stuff with those guys in their trucks on those tires, and we made it thru without hesitation. Mud, snow, nasty backroads goin hunting in northern MI. Not a problem at all gettin thru any of it.

Well I am now very happy with the tires. We just got back from a 1,500 mile camp, fish, drive tour of western Montana, central Idaho and Oregon. Tires worked very well. We had lots of rain, thus lots of mud. The tire have excellent traction on the muddy roads, very little slipping around and clean them selves OK for a AT tire. Where they really shined in on the rocks. We went up one area with lots of sharp rock (no choice but to turn around). I really did not want to take $1,100 worth of new tire over the rocks but...nothing but a little cut in one tire. No sidewall damage at all. Luckly for us we had a light load.
I am very happy with the purchase. I hope they last 40K miles.
PS, the tires are very quiet, the only time they make any noise is turning,

I've had the GY SA's for 3 yrs this October and have had nothing but good to say about them. Great in snow, rain, wear and looks. I wished they would make it in 305/70/17 but according to them there is no future plans for that size which kinda was a let down. That is the next size I'll get in the MT/R or Nitto. These are Heavy duty type tires and have been great.
