Thinking of Going Back with 35's
 

I'm currently running 37's, but still have stock gears and using stacked spacer's to acheive 8" of lift. I'm thinking of going back with the 6" lift and running 35's on 20's until I get the money to get the Rize 8" and 4:88 gears. I know there are severel people running 37's with the 6" plus either leveling spacer or Bilsteins with factory gears, but I'd feel more comfortable not having to worry about ball joints, transmission and anything else that warranty won't cover if it fails. If anyone has 35" Toyo MT's on Chrome 20's interested in making some sort of trade let me know. My tires have only 1000 miles and the rims do have some pitting, but nothing major. These wheels are very hard to get for an F-150.

By no means do I actually want to do it, but I bought the 6 yr 100,000 mile extended warranty. The trucks 2 yrs old so I have another 4yrs left to warranty. I pretty much just want to do it the correct way. I still have my 35's so I may put those back on and take the front spacers off until I have the funds.

you could always buy some bilsteins and just re gear the rear temporarily

Just make sure not to do any 4 wheelin before you finish up the front.

If he were to buy the bilsteins to replace the leveling kit wouldnt it cause the same stress on the joints?

Don't do it. Your truck was one of a few that made me go for 37's instead of 35's. It looks sweet the way it is, but I understand your logic.

Scrapin the Coast is in a few weeks so I want to leave it like it is until then atleast. I'm not usually one to do things the easy way and half a** it. I would love to be able to spend about 4k and get the 8" Rize and Gears. I just bought a bass boat and will be pulling it around on the weekends so that's one thing that I'm concerned about. It's not real heavy, but still worries me. I don't use my 4wd so maybe I can change my gears in the rear for now and just hope my ball joints don't go out.

It's still just up in the air. If I do down grade I think I'll be looking for the same wheel and tires as IDNC76, but the American Eagle version.

The rize is a great kit, but if i had a 6 i would not spend that much more $$$, if you wanna do it right just buy some coilover for the front and crank 'em up, even the rize you get a spacer, if it were my truck....coilover's and 4.88's--done deal...or if you just do bilsteins and 4.88's...if you did the bilstein's you could get the procomp strut spacer powdercoated red fire for a little extra bling

The only reason I would do the Rize would be to get my CV angle as close as I can back to stock. I don't use my 4wd much, but with the angle that ithey're at right now I'm sure it isn't good for my ball joints. With the Bilsteins will my ball joints have the same amount of stress as they do now with the 2.5" leveling spacer? If not then I'll just go with them. I can always run my factory rims when I pull something until I can get the gears.

well there are alot of guys on here running bilsteins with a 6 inch lift and none seen to have issues with it. tonkatruck33 is, i just can't think of the others, his just stands out in my mind at the moment. i would personally just do the bilsteins, the rize is a great kit, but i wouldn't take off 8 inches of lift to replace it with 8 inches of lift. also you cannot run stock rims on a procomp lift.

i am getting gears done this fall, with my labor removing the front diff and taking it in, and taking it in for the rear, i will have spent 850 bucks with gears, tack on 50 bucks for an aligment. i am gonna go with 4.88's

I know there are around 6 or 7 guys running either the Bilsteins or Coilovers on here. I guess. I probably should have started a thread asking if anyones had any issues with either there cv's or balljoints. A Rize is almost double of what the 8" set-up I have now.

I actually ran my factory's on my truck for 5 months before I bought my aftermarket rims and tires. I'm not sure why they say you can't.

That's fairly cheap for gears. I priced the yukons and just the gears are $600 plus the labor to install which I haven't priced yet.
