Confused? Gears? 37's?

well this is it in a nutshell; I have a ford f150 07 4wd drive, it is my first time getting 37's and I heard I am gunna need new gears. Is this true or not. I do go off-roading a lot....and if I do need them, what is an average price that yall have heard the gears go for.

When I switched from 35's to 37's I changed my gears to 4.88's. My truck is a lot more peppy now, I must admit. Your price will vary depending upon where you live because of varying labor rates. For mine to be done in the San Francisco area of California (everything seems to cost a whole lot more compared to other places in the U.S.) it was somewhere between $1500 and $1600 but that was with a pretty solid (IMO) labor rate from a fellow member here on the site (MercedesTech). Gears were in the $800's including M.I.K.'s, labor was in the $700's. That should give you a ballpark of what you're lookin at. I will also add that I had to pay about $100 more for my gears because I waited too long and Yukon raised their prices JUST a day or two before I made my purchase.

I got the gear when they were on sale for around 600. Install was 750. and the true-trac was 550. for a total of around 1900. I went with 4.88
